His passion for culinary creation deepened as he worked alongside his son, who also found himself incarcerated. Together, they shared the gift of baking, turning this shared experience into the foundation of Tastebud Approved.
Since Izell’s release, his mission has been clear: create desserts that not only satisfy but give back to the community. By partnering with local organizations like Children’s Institute Inc. and K.A.U.S.E.-Los Angeles, Tastebud Approved helps to lift up the neighborhood. From baking classes for children to community outreach events, the business is as much about making an impact as it is about making sweets.
